The slope of the narrower waterway appears to ascend though it descend. Water flows from the right to the left.


The left side of the narrower waterway appears to be higher than the right side, though the latter is higher than the former. Water flows from the right to the left.


The nearer side of the narrower waterway appears to be higher than the farther side, though the latter is higher than the former. Water flows from the right to the left.


The near side of the narrower waterway appears to be higher than the far side, though the latter is higher than the former.


The left side of the narrower waterway appears to be higher than the right side, though the latter is higher than the former. Water flows from the right to the left.


The near side of the narrower waterway appears to be higher than the far side, though the latter is higher than the former.


This illusion is weak or disappears when observers see the scene from the upper stream.


The slope of the narrower waterway appears to ascend though it descend. Water flows from the right to the left.
