"Shakoki dogu"*

Concentric circles appear to form spirals. Moreover, rings appear to rotate when obsevers approach or move away from the image.

"Oranges and yolks"

The color of the circles in the upper low appears to be orange while that in the lower row appears to be yellowish. Actually, both are the same color gradation.

"No entry for vehicles"

The left image appears to be the standard red no-entry sign while the right one appears to be a yellow one. Actually, they are identical in physical color gradation.

"Digital snakes"

The image appears to scintillate.

"Valley"

The image consists of squares or rectangles but appears to have curves giving a stereoscopic impression. In addition, the image appears to move.

"The sun and the moon"

The yellow ellipse appears to shift rightward when observers keep blink. After stopping blinks, the ellipse comes back and appears to shift leftward probably due to the motion aftereffect.

Bolts appear to get fastened or loosend automatically. Moreover, they appear to be angular in the peripheral vision.

Concentric rings do not appear as they are. They appear to move irregularly.

"Rotating bullets"

When we see this image without effort, the ring may appear to rotate counterclockwise. On the other hand, when we see this image keeping blinking, the ring appears to rotate clockwise.
