"Kikuchi's ambiguous figure"
If you perceive the contents of an open book as being viewed from top to bottom, the gazes appear to be directed somewhere else. However, if you perceive the book as being viewed from the bottom up, as if your eyes are looking up at the spine, the gazes appear to be directed toward you.
