Explanation of the King Queen Jack Illusion This is a visual trick video that demonstrates the effectiveness of "cues to depth". Three kinds of cues to depth are used: 1. Relative Retinal Image Size of Familiar Objects The farther away, the smaller the retinal image size is. Familiar objects provide relative size cues. 2. Occlusion (or T-junction) Partial occlusion of a far object by a near object creates T-shaped junctions of contours. 3. Relative Height in the Visual Field The farther on the ground an object is, the higher in the visual field when you look down on the object.
