"Eye color constancy signal"

The right eye appears to be cyan in the left panel, yellow in the middle panel, and red in the right panel, though in each panel the right eye is the same color (= gray) as the left eye.

The upper-left image is the original. In the upper-right image, dark yellow gives apparent red (Mt. Fuji icon) and light green renders apparent yellow (boats). In the lower-left image, orange shows apparent yellow (boats) and reddish-purple gives apparent blue (sea). In the lower-right image, light bluish-purple gives apparent yellow (boats) and dark reddish-purple renders apparent red (Mt. Fuji icon).

The original picture is "Kanagawaoki-namiura" (The Great Wave off Kanagawa) drawn by the most famous Japanese artist KATSUSHIKA Hokusai (1760-1849).
